Development Name: Gemini Park, Borehamwood
Developer: Taylor Wimpey North Thames
Development Overview: Construction of 169 apartments & 3 town houses
Infrastructure Gateway (IGL) was instructed by Taylor Wimpey to provide consultancy services to their development Gemini Park, Borehamwood. To begin IGL undertook a full utility search to establish the extent & position of existing utilities. This enabled us to establish that utility service disconnections would be required & that there would be no requirements for any utility diversionary works.
The development site had industrial premises which required demolition in order for the development to progress; IGL identified the relevant supply points & managed the meter removals & subsequent service disconnection process between the client taking control and demolition of the site, which was a tight programme but IGL managed to achieve in time for demolition to commence.
IGL worked alongside Taylor Wimpey & its consultants to establish a defined supply strategy for the new development. Following the agreed strategy IGL obtained quotations from all incumbent utility companies to provide supply to the development, as well as utilising market deregulation to obtain independent installation quotes where appropriate. This has enabled IGL to present a variety of options for the development and has enabled Taylor Wimpey to select the most cost and time effective method for them.
